Here's Exactly What You Will Be Learning (& Doing) in the Genome Analysis Career Kickstarter Mentorship Program
Week 0 - Environment Setup & Tools Installation
We will start with setting up our systems with all the required Environments (Ubuntu/WSL), Tools, and Packages to be used.
Result After this Module
We will be ready with all the requirements for the program and won’t have to go back and forth during the crucial learning time.
Week 1 - Fundamentals of Genome Analysis
We will learn about important terminologies used in Genome Analysis along with different parameters used and their significance on the outcomes.
Result After this Module
We will equip ourselves with all the required information needed in order to run the process practically.
Week 2 - Retrieving, Understanding & Pre-Processing the Data
The most important part of Genome Analysis process is the data used, hence here we will be looking into our data, understanding it and gathering certain information about it

Some pre-processing will be performed on the data so that it is ready for the analysis process with any external noise and anomilies.
Week 3 - Retrieving Reference Genome, Building Index & Mapping
We will understand how to select and download the Reference genome for mapping and build it’s index in order to perform mapping.

We will have our reference genome ready for mapping our Genome.
Week 4 - Post-Mapping Process
Once the mapping is done a number of filtering processes are required to be performed.
Result After this Module
Filtered out non mapped read in our data while keeping the mapped reads for further analysis.
Week 5 - Variant Analysis with Bash Tools
We will then perform Variant Analysis using Bash Tools.
Result After this Module
Generate the variant analysis results for SNP detection using Bash Tools in Ubuntu and be able to create the automation of the process as well.
Week 6 - Variant Analysis with Python
We will then use python pipeline for running Variant Analysis and generate the results.
Result After this Module
Try to generate Variant Analysis results using different python libraries and be able to interpret the results as well.
Week 7 - Differential Gene Expression Analysis
Then we will move to running the analysis for RNA Data and generate the list of Differentially Expressed Genes using Bash Tools.
Result After this Module
Generate the counts file and use it for running the analysis using Baash Tools before we use it for running further analysis using R.
Week 8 - Differential Gene Expression Analysis with R
Running the Gene Expression analysis using the counts file generated previously with R.
Result After this Module
Be able to generate the results with a list of Differentially expressed gene in the samples, then run Network analysis as well.
Week 9 - Advance Differential Gene Expression Analysis
Generating different plots/graphs, tables.
Result After this Module
Be able to interpret the results based on the plots and tables we generated and understand the outcomes and be able to generate the report and understand it.
Week 10 - Machine Learning for Genomic Analysis
We will now introduce Machine Learning in this process and see how we can make use of ML in Genome Analysis.
Result After this Module
Create a prediction model for our genome analysis results and be able to make predictions of results using the same to bring down the time taken for running the analysis.
Week 11 - Machine Learning for Genomic Analysis & Starting the Project
Continue with Machine Learning Applications and fine tuning our model for making better predictions. Then, setting up the project for course completion.
Result After this Module
Be able to get better outcomes from the model with the help of fine tuning. Then setting up the project work for submission towards course completion requirement.
Week 12 - Project Submission & Finalize the Research Article
Complete the project and submit the result and start writing the research article.

Once, the project is completed participants will start writing the paper for publication and submit it. To get a publication in their name.
